First Bus to introduce new cross-city service in Worcester
- New through route to avoid changing buses
- More frequent services on Saturdays
First Bus is introducing a new cross-city service in Worcester, improving weekend frequency across the city network and adding trips to support shift workers.
The changes begin on Sunday 30 August and will see a revised 35 service connecting Dines Green to Blackpole via the city centre. This new service includes the merger of the 30 service, meaning customers will no longer need to change services or buy separate tickets.
More journeys are also added on Saturdays, with the 31 and 32 services doubling to every 30 minutes and the 34 and 38 services increasing to every 20 minutes from the current 30 minutes.
The 34 service will also have extra trips for shift workers to Shire Park, with the first bus arriving at 6:00am and last evening service picking up at10:00pm.
Head of Network for East & Midlands, Julian Elliott, said: “This will introduce improved connections across the city.
“We’ve looked carefully at how and where we can deliver easier travel to match the needs of shift workers and links to healthcare to support the regional economy.”
There will also be timetable adjustments for many services across the regional network to improve punctuality.
