First Bus announces changes to services from Sunday 30 August

  • New routes for Bristol services to allow Broadmead redevelopment works

First Bus is advising customers that 24 of its services in the Bristol area will operate revised routes from Sunday 30 August to allow for major redevelopment work to be carried out in the Broadmead area of the city centre.

The route changes involve the long-term closure of Union Street and a permanent end to traffic using The Horsefair and Penn Street.

Full details of the diversions and use of new bus stops are available on the First Bus website https://www.firstbus.co.uk/bristol-bath-and-west/news-and-service-updates/updates/service-changes-3…

George Burton, Head of Network for First Bus, said: “We have worked closely with Bristol City Council and the Combined Authority to plan these routes and keep diversions as simple as possible.

“We will continue to support our local partners to help customers travel with confidence as the new routes settle in and people become familiar with the changes.”

The Bristol services are among a series of changes across the First Bus West of England region, which include timetables adjustments to improve punctuality and reliability and the start of the new academic year.

Complete details of all changes can be found on the website.
