First Bus offer free travel to all current members, veterans and cadets for Armed Forces Day celebrations across all their UK networks.
To commemorate and support ‘Armed Forces Day’, First Bus is providing free bus travel on Saturday 29th to any person travelling to an organised event wearing uniforms of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force and any associated cadet force across all of its UK bus networks.
In addition, free travel is also allowed if a person is in possession of a current Ministry of Defence issued card, with their branch of military stated. Any First Bus colleagues who have previously served in the forces are also being encouraged to wear associated military attire whilst driving in service.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for those who make up the Armed Forces community from currently serving troops to service families, veterans, and cadets.
First Bus has a long affiliation with the Armed Forces community and a long history of colleagues who served.
There are many events and services taking place around the country and locally where people, communities and organisations can visit to show their support.
Andrew Jarvis, Chief Operations Officer, First Bus said: ” This is an important occasion for many people who want to remember family, friends and others who have been lost in military service.
"We have several veterans working for First Bus across our businesses and we’re very proud of their efforts and sacrifice.
"This is our way of saying thank you to them, as well as honouring all men and women who choose to serve and protect the freedoms of our country”.
