First Bus announces more frequent buses to Fosse Park

First Bus is extending Service 18 between Fosse Park and the City Centre in Leicester seven days a week. The extended route, via Hinckley Road and Braunstone, will improve local connectivity and provide a convenient travelling alternative for shoppers facing parking challenges at one of Britain biggest out-of-town retail complex, the Fosse Shopping Park.

The extended service will commence on Sunday, 13th July 2025, with increased frequency during the daytime, with buses running every 20 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, and every 40 minutes on Sundays. There will also be additional journeys later in the evening on weekdays and Saturdays, making it easier for passengers to travel to and from the City Centre and Fosse Park at any time of the day.

People travelling from other parts of Leicester to the retail park will be able to connect to Service 18 at St Margaret’s Bus Station, St Peter’s Lane, Causeway Lane or St Nicholas Circle.

Paul Townley, Commercial Director, First Bus Leicester said: “We are pleased to be extending Service 18 to improve local connectivity in the area, making travel easier for communities across Leicester.

“Fosse Park attracts a huge number of visitors every day and this extended service will offer a reliable and comfortable alternative to driving. Our buses are spacious, feature USB charging, and offer a congestion-friendly alternative for our passengers.”
